Starbucks has chosen its birthplace of New York City, where founder Howard Schultz opened the first Starbucks store in 1994, to build its second Reserve Roastery in the US.

Unlike its first US Roastery in Seattle, this latest NYC edition includes the Arriviamo Bar, inspired by the Italian tradition of aperitivo.

The massive 23,000-square-foot locale, which sits in the meatpacking district at 61 9th Avenue—on the corner of 9th Avenue and 15th Street—officially opened its doors on 14 December.

This is the brand’s fourth Reserve Roastery in the world, after Seattle, Shanghai, and most recently, Milan.

Similar to its predecessors, Starbucks Reserve Roastery New York will serve premium coffees, teas, mixology and house the Milanese Princi Bakery.

This New York outlet includes two coffee bars and offers a total seven brewing methods, such as pour over, Chemex, coffee press, siphon, espresso, Clover and cold brewing.

Starbucks plans to bring its Reserve Roastery concept to Tokyo and Chicago in 2019.
