Besides the system update to the latest Android build, OxygenOS 9.0.0 includes a new UI for Android Pie, and new navigation gestures for the OnePlus 5T. The December Android security patch is also included as are other new features and system improvements. Additionally, the update comes with Gaming mode 3.0, which includes a text notification mode and notification for third party calls. The Do Not Disturb (DND) mode now has adjustable settings, and the camera now offers an integrated Google Lens mode for visual searches.

The update weighs in at 1.742GB for the One Plus 5, and 1.748GB for the OnePlus 5T. OnePlus notes that only a small number of users will receive the update today, with a “broader rollout” beginning in a matter of days. According to a post written by a OnePlus staff member, the company’s software team worked overtime on Christmas Eve to make sure that owners of the OnePlus 5 and 5T would receive this “Christmas gift.”
