McDonald’s Introduces Its First-Ever Vegan-Friendly ‘Happy Meal’1 min read

2019 seems to have started off on a green note for multiple fast food chains.

With consumers opting for healthier food choices, Carl’s Jr.’s and Pizza Hut aren’t the only ones rolling out vegetarian menu options for the upcoming year.

McDonald’s UK has jumped on the bandwagon by introducing its first-ever vegetarian ‘Happy Meal’.

The £2.49 (US$3.15) ‘Happy Meal Veggie Wrap’ comprises red pesto veggie goujon, shredded lettuce and tomato ketchup, all wrapped within a toasted tortilla.

It’s also rolled out ‘The Spicy Veggie One’ to replace its ‘Spicy Vegetable Deluxe’. This £2.99 (US$3.80) offering comes with two red pesto veggie goujons with spicy relish, tomato, lettuce, and red onions.

Both unveilings were made in collaboration with Altrincham-based charity The Vegetarian Society and uses only ingredients that are dairy-free as well as vegan-friendly.
