Burger King is openly coming after Starbucks with its latest coffee subscription.
The fast food chain is offering its app users a ‘BK Café Coffee’ subscription that would entitle them a small hot cup of Arabica coffee everyday for only US$5 per month.
Its promotional image, which features a Starbucks-like logo, admits which company the burger chain is taking a swipe at. Its tag line reads, “Enjoy BK Café for a month for the price of a large cappuccino from Starbucks.”
The deal, which commenced on 15 March, is only available for those who have downloaded the BK app, and can be accessed via the ‘Offers’ tab daily to redeem a small coffee.
Burger King’s North America president, Chris Finazzo, says that the company is leveraging on technology to please customers’ experience through a subscription service that would keep patrons caffeinated for just US$5 a month.
