Greg Gutfeld Slams Jimmy Kimmel After ABC Pulls Show

Unfortunately for Jimmy Kimmel, the only talk-show host who had a new show last night in time to react to ABC pulling Kimmel’s series off the air was Fox News‘ Greg Gutfeld.

And Gutfeld didn’t shed any tears for his fellow TV host.

On his Gutfeld! show, the host was handed the news about ABC yanking Kimmel in the middle of his show being taped. Kimmel had sparked an uproar by saying during his monologue on Monday that Kirk shooting suspect Tyler Robinson was MAGA — “one of them.” The situation rapidly spiraled Wednesday after FCC Chair Brendan Carr threatened ABC affiliates over the comment, prompting a major affiliate group, Nexstar, to preempt Kimmel’s show, and then ABC suspended the series “indefinitely.”

One of Gutfeld’s guests was Dr. Drew Pinsky, who has known Kimmel for decades, having both worked at the Los Angeles radio station KROQ in the 1990s. Pinsky reacted to the news by saying, “Good.”

“For 30 years, I’ve known Jimmy,” Pinksy said. “I knew this was coming. [Gutfeld!] is the only show that works on late night. These other models just don’t work. The fact that they’re only representing one point of view and it is so far from reality, they won’t let reality come in, there’s going to be a consequence. I’m delighted to see that. I’m sorry, but I’m delighted.”

Then Gutfeld weighed in: “I don’t think [Kimmel] expected any [pushback] at all. He’s in his bubble comfortable. He goes, ‘Even if he is wrong, who’s going to come after me? They agree with me anyway.’”

Earlier on the show, and during an appearance on Fox News’ The Five, Gutfeld had more comments about the Kimmel situation.

“He didn’t imply [Kirk’s shooter was MAGA], he said it,” Gutfeld declared. “If he doesn’t address what he did, he’s done. This is a great case though of cognitive dissonance. How could such a smart, successful person be so wrong?”

Gutfeld also called Kimmel “the bad guy in the movie” who has “stuck with this delusion about Trump supporters … for years. I hate to tell you buddy, but the guy who shot and killed Charlie Kirk was more likely a fan of yours.”

During Gutfeld’s monologue, before he knew the show had been yanked, the host said about Kimmel’s on-air comments: “[Kimmel’s remarks were made] two days ago. So Kimmel had the chance to walk it back, but he can’t. And why is that? Because to admit he was wrong on this calls into question his entire filter for interpreting reality. So it’s better to live in denial knowing the likeminded media won’t press you on it, but we will. Hey, Disney shareholders. It may be time to thaw out Walt to put things right. No wonder your five year stock price looks like this. Bambi’s mom has a brighter future.”

Gutfeld! has been dominating the evening talk-show ratings in terms of total viewers, averaging 3.3 million viewers during the second quarter of 2025 in his 10 p.m. timeslot compared to Kimmel’s 1.8 million in his 11:35 p.m slot. Since Gutfeld! airs in primetime — and in early prime on the West Coast — the slot is considered to have a major advantage in terms of drawing viewers. And in the advertiser-valued 18-to-49 demo, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert easily top Gutfeld!.
