EXCLUSIVE: Hyde Park International has acquired SXSW Audience Award winner The Baltimorons from filmmaker Jay Duplass.
The pic reps a return for Duplass as a feature director after 14 years, during that time he starred on Dying for Sex, Transparent and Industry and also created such series as Togetherness and Room 104.
The Baltimorons stars Michael Strassner (Young Rock, A Spy Movie, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation), whose personal life inspired the story which he co-wrote with Duplass, opposite Liz Larsen (Madoff,
Keeping the Faith). Strassner plays newly sober improv comedian Cliff Cashen who needs emergency
dental treatment on Christmas Eve whilst Larsen plays Didi, the no-nonsense dentist who’s the only one to answer his call. A series of unpredictable misadventures keeps this unlikely duo together over the course of 24 hours as Cliff and Didi fight to overcome being shut out by their families, face their biggest fears, and discover a surprising and tender connection.
The Baltimorons is a Duplass Brothers Productions picture produced by David Bonnett, Strassner, Jay Duplass and Drew Langer and executive produced by Mark Duplass, Mel Eslyn and Shuli Harel.

The Baltimorons won the Audience Award in Narrative Spotlight at this year’s SXSW.
